WSA Summer Travel softball is aimed at developing competitiveness and building advanced softball skills for high school readiness.
WSA is committed to player development, ensuring they are competing at the appropriate skill level and are provided sufficient playing time.
Travel play is competitive in nature, and therefore, equal playing time is not guaranteed
Playing time is earned through performance, effort, and attitude during practices and games, determined by the coaches
Players and parents are expected to respect the coach’s instructions and decisions. We expect that players should maintain a positive attitude and work as a team; Good sportsmanship is emphasized, both on and off the field.
Players are expected to be prepared and on time for practices and games. Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices, games, and team events. If players cannot attend or there are any issues, please let the coach know prior to the event so they can prepare appropriately.
Sideline Support (For Parents) – We’re grateful for the passion and enthusiasm of our WSA community. As our leagues continue to focus on sideline behavior, here are a few reminders on how to maintain a positive sideline environment:
Let the coaches do the coaching. This will help the players stay focused.
Focus on positive comments.
Never address or yell at the ump; let the coaches handle “bad calls.”
Follow the 24-hour rule (respectfully wait 24 hours before inquiring with a coach about training or game day concerns)
